Jeffrey Stanford, a resident of Howard County, was named to the dean's list with distinction at Virginia Tech for the fall 2007 and spring 2008 semesters.

Laurie Marie Walls, of Clarksville, daughter of Elizabeth and Thurman Walls, received a bachelor's degree in biology from Williams College.

Edna Gitei, of Ellicott City, was awarded a $1,500 scholarship from the Alpha Mu Tau Fraternity, a clinical laboratory science honor society. She is a student at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Paul Merena, Vanessa Graham and Dustin Jefferies, all from Ellicott City, graduated from Messiah College May 17.

Bridget M. Forsyth, Mary P. Forsyth and Erin O. Keeley, of Ellicott City; and Kathleen Pencek, of Glenwood, were named to the dean's list at St. Joseph's University for the spring semester.
