Marguerite and Roland Gouel, of Rockville, announce the engagement of their daughter, Susan Helen Gouel, to Nicholas Adam Yeates, son of Mary and Jim Yeates, of Montogmery Village.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of the University of Maryland, where she received a bachelor's degree in French and criminology. She is a paralegal with Marriott International.

The future groom, who lives in Elkridge, received his bachelor's degree in information systems from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where he is also pursuing a master's degree. He is an information technology specialist as a self-employed contractor.

A July wedding is planned.
