Gregory M. Snead

Gregory Matthew Snead, of Ellicott City, died Aug. 3, 2008, of cancer, at his residence. He was 52.

Born Nov. 9, 1955, in Baltimore, to Anthony "Ed" Jr. and M. Eileen Kenealy Snead, he graduated from Mount St. Joseph High School, in Baltimore, in 1973.

He studied communications for four years, first at Baltimore City College for two years, then a year at the University of Maryland, followed by a year at Hunter (N.Y.) College.

Mr. Snead was employed by WNYW-TV, channel 5, in New York, for 15 years in creative services, working behind the scenes on the program "A Current Affair" for talk show host Maury Povich and "The Sally Jessy Raphael Show." During that time, he also helped to create commercials.

For the last seven years, he worked as a salesman for Miller Brothers Cadillac, in Ellicott City.

He was predeceased by his father, Anthony "Ed" Snead Jr.

Mr. Snead is survived by his mother, M. Eileen Snead, of Ellicott City; a sister, Marybeth Snead, of Laurel; and an aunt and an uncle, Joan and Jack Merrill, of Hunt Valley; as well as many other relatives and friends.

A memorial Mass is slated for Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, 11:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 4795 Illchester Road, Ellicott City. The Rev. Erik Arnold will officiate.

Interment will follow at Meadowridge Memorial Park, in Elkridge.
